Lemonade, a perfect way to finish of the weekend. I have been packing for a upcoming camping trip, and after hauling out all my stuff this lemonade sure hits the spot!
It's super easy too- boil sugar and water to make a simple syrup, add in the lemon juice and pour in the rest of the cold water. Refrigerate and voila! Lemonade!
This makes quite a bit, but if your family is anything like mine it won't last long!
Enjoy out on the patio with a good book- that's my kind of summer!
Lemonade
Prep time: 15 minutes
Makes: 3 liters lemonade
Ingredients:
· 1 C white sugar
· 2 liters (8 C) + ½ C water
· 1 C fresh lemon juice
Bring sugar and ½ C water to a boil in a small saucepan. Sugar should be fully dissolved. Add lemon juice and cool for 15-20 minutes. Add the remainder of the water, mix with a whisk or wooden spoon and refrigerate.**
**If you don’t have a large enough container (like me), split the lemon juice and simple syrup mixture in half or 1/3rds and add an even amount of the remaining water to each. I find it easier to pour the lemon simple syrup into the glass jars and slowly pour in the rest of the water- that way you don’t have to clean an extra bowl!
